Located on historic Charles Street in La Plata, Maryland, Zekiah Ridge Farm, as it is affectionately known, has been in the Thomas family for over half a century. Operated as a tobacco farm, the Thomases grew the iconic Southern Maryland crop for years on their 120-acre parcel. The tobacco was “cured” in large, high walled barns designed to allow air to flow through them. The tobacco grown at Zekiah Ridge Farm was cured in barns built in the 1930’s. 

From the tobacco buy out Bliss in the Barn, LLC was born. From a family wedding to the only tobacco barn in Charles County to hold a Use and Occupancy permit. 

"Bliss in the Barn” is a rustic, authentic tobacco barn located on a working farm in Southern Maryland. This venue is the perfect choice for your wedding, reception, family gathering or corporate event. This property is very private, quiet and welcoming.

The barn is over 2700 square feet  to accommodate your event. The tables and benches are hand made from barn beams and reclaimed barn and fence wood. There is a real feel of open space and being outside while being protected from the elements.  

There are acres of land available for lawn games, parking and watching the sunset.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 5:30 PM.
