About Us

The Charles County Public Library creates opportunities for the community to engage, discover, and learn.

We are the trusted source for connecting everyone to endless possibilities. Some of our services include: notary, passport application, meeting room use (including the Drop the Mic Recording Studio at PD Brown and the SOAR Innovation Space at Waldorf West which provides access to the Adobe Creative Suite, mics, and audio mixer), remote printing (poster printing available at Waldorf West), virtual library cards (providing access to streaming platforms like Libby, Hoopla, Freegal and Kanopy for free streaming of ebooks, audiobooks, music, movies, graphic novels and magazines). We also provide access to technology such as mobile wifi hotspots, Chromebooks, and camera equipment at Waldorf West (DSLR camera, camcorders, GoPro, tripods and greenscreen kits). Have a child under 5 in your life? Be sure to sign them up for the Imagination Library where they'll receive one free book a month until age 5. We have an expansive list of programming including, but not limited to Story Times, STEM/STEAM programs for kids and teens, a Teen Film Club, Art Exploration sessions, 3D Printing, Take and Make kits for all ages, one-on-one technology sessions for adults, Comic Book and Anime Clubs, Spanish Conversational Club, Sewing Machine Lounge and My Fresh Start (shower program) just to name a few. If you can't make it into a physical branch, no worries! Our Mobile Library crew can be found out on the road all around the county offering great services and resources as well.
